Mercury Support partners with Zapt.ai to launch new compliance platform

Manchester-based compliance specialist Mercury Support has partnered with software developer Zapt.ai to launch a new cloud-based compliance platform designed to simplify health, safety and risk management for modern businesses.

The collaboration began while both teams were participating in ASCEND, the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub’s flagship scale-up programme. Through the programme, we identified an opportunity to combine our operational compliance expertise with Zapt.ai’s specialist software development capabilities.

Together, we set out to build a platform designed around the realities of running busy, multi-site operations.

Built around real operational challenges

At Mercury Support, we’ve spent more than 30 years working within hospitality and multi-site environments where compliance is critical and operational pressures are constant.

That experience shaped the development of the platform from the very beginning.

Rather than relying on theoretical compliance frameworks, the system has been built to address the real challenges businesses face: excessive paperwork, disconnected systems and limited visibility across operations.

The result is a single, streamlined platform that helps organisations across sectors including hospitality, healthcare, education and facilities management manage risk, stay audit-ready and maintain compliance without adding unnecessary administrative burden.

Dave Mansbridge, founder of Mercury Support and former Living Ventures director, said:

“We’ve spent decades operating in hospitality – an industry where compliance really matters and small mistakes can have big consequences.

“We built this platform to solve the recurring challenges we’ve faced ourselves and have seen our clients struggle with – too much paperwork, disconnected systems, and not enough clarity.

“Our goal was simple: one platform that keeps businesses audit-ready, easy to use for teams on the ground, and supported by real people who understand the pressures operators face every day.”

Combining technology with real-world expertise

The platform combines Mercury Support’s consultancy-led compliance model with Zapt.ai’s custom software development expertise, creating a hybrid solution that offers both powerful digital tools and ongoing human support.

Following a soft launch with a number of existing Mercury Support clients, the platform is now being rolled out more widely across hospitality, education and facilities operations.

Early adopters have already reported improved visibility across compliance processes, reduced administrative time and greater confidence when preparing for audits and inspections.

Phil Gold, co-founder of Zapt.ai, added:

“Working with Mercury Support has been a great example of what happens when you combine deep domain expertise with modern software development.

“Dave and his team know exactly what operators need on the ground – our job was to build something that matched that real-world knowledge rather than imposing a generic tech solution on top of it.”

The collaboration also highlights the strength of Greater Manchester’s scale-up ecosystem, where programmes like ASCEND are helping ambitious businesses come together to develop new solutions and accelerate growth.

As the platform continues to roll out, our aim is simple: to bring a more practical, user-focused approach to compliance technology, backed by the operational expertise that Mercury Support has built over decades working alongside operators.
